5G – Should We Be Concerned?

5G has been one of the most controversial developments of recent technologies.  To start, lets define what 5G is. In telecommunications, 5G is the fifth-generation technology standard for cellular networks. All 5G wireless devices in a small geographical area are connected to the internet and telephone network by radio waves through a local antenna in the area.

It is said that our devices and connection speeds are too slow. We need a new, more powerful way to ensure the fastest internet speeds. While this all sounds fine and good, the question is; at what cost? The increased speed is achieved in part by utilizing higher-frequency radio waves. These higher-frequency radio waves have a shorter range, however. This means that there will need to be more 5G Antennas to ensure a fully encompassed grid. This may, in turn, cause adverse effects in humans and other organisms at a cellular level if we have prolonged exposure to non-native electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs).

While humans, plants, animals, and other naturally occurring organisms are all emitting native electromagnetic frequencies, it is the non-native EMFs which can be disruptive to living creatures.

It is impossible to know what the long-term effects of 5G will be on living cells. What we do know, is that even acute exposure to forms of electromagnetic radiation can cause adverse effects over time. Why is it that we put on a lead vest and the doctor steps out of the room during an X-Ray? There are harmful frequencies that we do not want to be exposed to whenever necessary.

In a go-go-go world, our body is often stuck in the sympathetic nervous system. This is what we call the “fight or flight mode”. We are so wound up by our technology and stresses of life that it can be difficult for us to allow our bodies to enter the parasympathetic, “rest and digest” mode. Wifi, 5G, and other non-native EMFs only create a more difficult environment for us to truly be able to relax and recover. If we don’t know how these higher frequencies with 5G will affect us, why would we want to risk a bit faster internet for the sake of our health?

There are areas around the world, such as Hawaii, who have halted any production of 5G technologies on their land until it is proven to be safe for human health.

So, what can we do?

  1. Turn off all technology whenever possible. If you are not using your phone, computer, tablet, TV; turn it off. Even better, unplug it from the wall. When cords are left plugged in, they are still emitting a low level of EMFs. Do this ESPECIALLY at night when you need to enter a deep sleep, it has been shown the non-native EMF’s can disrupt sleep.

  2. Get outside to ground yourself and fill you spaces with home with plants to increase the available oxygen in your environment.

  3. Protect yourself with an EMF transformer.
