How to Create a Holistic Home - 4 Tips

How can we make our home more holistic? The healthier we can make our environment, the healthier we will be. Here are four areas I look at to ensure a holistic home. They all work together to create a healthy environment.

1) Air flow & air quality.

We can survive weeks without food, days without water, but only a few minutes without breathing. It’s safe to say that the air we breathe is affecting our health. How can we ensure that the air we are breathing is healthy?

The best option to start with is fresh air. Leaving the windows open and utilizing fans to circulate fresh air around the house is step one. If you live in a city or live in a cold environment where leaving the windows open is not suitable, air filters are a must. You will be shocked at how much those filters pick up once you go to clean them!

Other methods for clean air include regular dusting, vacuuming, and overall cleanliness to maintain a clean environment.

I love this small, cost effective filter.

2) Plants!

Similarly to having fresh air, plants can act as natural air purifiers. Not only do they transform carbon dioxide into fresh oxygen, they also have been shown to have a calming effect on those around them. The more house plants you can add to your home, the better. This is a great way to bring nature into our home to balance out the often far-from natural environment of our house. Plants are also a great tool to help mitigate the effects of Electromagnetic Radiation (see next section).

3) Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) support

In our digital age of wires and electronics, we are constantly being exposed to low-medium levels of electromagnetic frequencies which are slowly causing damage to our bodies at a cellular level.

What can we do to help mitigate these effects?

  • Plants

  • Unplug cords when not in use

  • Turn off Wi-Fi when not in use

  • Turn off power circuits at night (if possible)

  • Use of EMR Modulation Technology

Most of these are pretty easy and self-explanatory. If we eliminate the electrical flow when we are not actively using the devices, we can reduce the impact of these EMR.

Now what about this fancy EMR Modulation Technology? The short explanation of this is that these technologies transformation non-coherent frequencies (EMR) into coherent frequencies which our body and other living creatures are able to better metabolize. Not-so-fun fact: the two main causes of pollinator decline are pesticides and electromagnetic radiation.

4) Water Filters

The human body is made up of a majority water by weight. It is important to recognize that as water beings, the quality of our water is going to play a huge role in our overall health. Hopefully you are already drinking high quality water from a top tier filter or natural spring water. If not, do that asap!

Now, we also absorb a great amount of water through our skin. If we can add filters on our showers and sinks, we will be eliminating many unseen toxins from the tap water. For the most part, tap water in most areas is filled with nasty particles including pesticides, chlorine, fluoride, pharmaceutical drug residues, and much more. Get yourself some water filters!

There are many more aspects to creating a truly holistic home that you can incorporate. I hope that this will get you started in the right direction!
