The Power of Mindfulness
What exactly is mindfulness? Here is what Google says:
I think It's safe to say that nearly any aspect of your life can be improved with mindfulness.
When we are relaxed, present, and grounded, everything changes.
It is very difficult to get upset or stressed about minor disturbances when you are in a grounded state.
Whether you are interviewing for a new job, communicating with a partner, selling your new product, eating, exercising, doing ANYTHING, I can assure you that you will do such at a much higher level when mindfulness is a way of life.
So with that being said, what we can do to become more mindful and less mind-full?
Like any skill, it comes down to consistency, persistence, and patience.
Yes, mindfulness is a skill.
No shortcuts, no quick fixes, just consistent small actions.
It is a constant progression of becoming more and more in tune with yourself, your thoughts, your feelings, your emotions, and your environment.
Here are a few things you can do daily:
Mindful practices:
1. Meditation (active or passive)
2. Yoga (or any form of stretching)
3. Exercise (of any sort, without interruption of technology, fully present)
4. Reading
5. Journaling
6. Silence
7. Walking (without devices)
8. Mindful eating (eating without TV or any other screen)
9. Driving without radio (Focusing simply on driving and your thoughts)
10. Uninterrupted conversation (without checking phone)
11. Cooking
The list goes on and on! You can really make any practice mindful by committing to being fully present.
