What's the deal with Cordyceps?

Back in 2014, I first became aware of the power of medicinal mushrooms. Like many people, I once believed that mushrooms were either poisonous or psychedelic. My friend sent me a video and some research about some superfood known as the Cordyceps mushroom which was supposed to be really good for lung health and improving the body’s energy. At this stage of my life, I was doing some fairly consistent running and figured that it would be nice to enhance that area of my life.

Less than a year, I met the great Alex Dorr (who later goes on to create Mushroom Revival) in a mycology course in college who helped to further open my eyes to the power of mushrooms.

This is when I really become enthralled in the untapped power of mushrooms.

Alex is a cordyceps fanatic and now has the only certified organic Cordyceps Militaris farm in the country!

Here is a bit about Cordyceps and how Alex has managed to cultivate such magnificent mushroom Cheetos!

Benefits of Cordyceps:

“As a powerful adaptogenic mushroom, Cordyceps supports a natural increase in energy, endurance and stamina, and helps the adrenal system manage stress and fatigue. Cordyceps helps us get more natural energy by boosting the body’s ATP (adenosine triphosphate) production. Cordyceps can combat fatigue and give your body a natural boost! Chinese Olympic athletes use Cordyceps to enhance their athletic performance by increasing endurance and oxygen capacity.

Cordyceps helps us get more oxygen into the bloodstream by boosting the body’s lung capacity. Studies have shown that this mushroom supports a healthy respiratory system.

Cordyceps may contain anti-viral properties, helping to enhance the immune system and alleviate respiratory diseases. One of the most effective mushrooms for chronic viral infections.

This mushroom has a beneficial impact on female fertility and the success of IVF. Studies have shown that Cordyceps may stimulate estrogen production, as well as increase levels of male sex hormones, improving sperm quality and quantity
